“God governs in the affairs of man. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? We have been assured in the Sacred Writings that except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it. I firmly believe this. I also believe that, without His concurring aid, we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Benjamin Franklin, Constiutional Convention, 1787 May 23, 2020 Faith: Belief of Things not Seen but Promised God does not lie, his promises are realDuring this time of pestilence and death, many are turning back toward their faith. It is often in the worst of times that our faith is tested the most. It's always easy to believe when things are going well or when we have an idea how things are likely to turn out, yet during times of tribulation, it is quite a different story. The difficulty has to do with the variable we cannot control, how will I get through this or when will it end? Faith is the belief of things not seen but things hoped for. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1 How can one have faith when we have no idea of the outcome? It has to do with trust. Read more..... April 8, 2015 The Power of Prayer Calling on his name The Christian life is wonderful. When we accept the free gift of salvation, we become a new creation and become a child of God. We seek the light instead of darkness but unfortunately we suffer from the curse of Adam’s sin. From physical death and sickness to financial problems and everything in between, life can be hard. Not only does it rain on the unjust but also the just. No one is spared. Even so, we are never alone. We have the ability to call upon the name of the Lord in our time of trouble or sorrow. The advances of technology are tremendous. Who would every think that the devices from Star Trek would come to life, the communicator-your phone, the tricorder-your tablet and the phaser-the US Army's new weapon. We have come a long way in our history. What we think is old, we label as no longer valid. But history is valuable as it tells the story of our forefathers and their struggles. We are no different. We only live in a different time. Love still matters, character still counts and honor is worth more then gold. This is no different from the One who is everlasting, the God who created us and who has proven again and again that he is always available in our time of need. While times change, God never changes. He is a living God. Read more December 17, 2012 Why does God allow bad things to happen? When bad things happen, the first question that we ask is why? How could this happen? We begin to compare our lives and our morality to others when searching for answers. Its often a shock and hard to accept. What did I do to deserve this? No one is immune; the common man or the powerful. "For there is no respect of persons with God". Romans 2:11 There is an answer. It might not be what you want to hear. It goes beyond the realm of the secular world and before the throne of the Almighty. It begins with our faith. Read more.... March 4, 2012
With Wings of Eagles, a journey with cancer
We live in hectic and changing world. Distractions abound in our race of life. The burdens placed on our shoulders can be difficult and overbearing but we somehow get through it. January 30, 2012 And they were called Christians.... What is a Christian? For more then two thousand years, "Christians" have been part of the world's history both good and bad. It was Christians who fought to abolish slavery in America and "Christians" who participated in the Crusades. It is Christians who care for the sick and feed the poor yet those who profess to be "Christians" care little for their neighbor. While the world today has become openly hostile to Christianity, the biggest enemy of Christians are other "Christians". Think about it, how many times have our Christian political leaders and Christian leaders of industry bent over backwards to reject the nature of our founding by removing God from the public square and stripping America of it's Judeo-Christian values?
