Illegitimate Court

Only one definition of marriage

In the landmark ruling Obergefell v Hodges, a divided US Supreme Court ruled that there is a constitutional right to homosexual marriage and that states cannot ban such unions. The 5-4 ruling had no constitutional basis and was derived from the majority's view of what constitutes liberty. While religious liberty is enumerated in the first amendment in the Bill of Rights, homosexual marriage is neither a right nor enumerated in the constitution. Thus the court in the most extreme example of judicial activism, imposed a new definition of marriage upon the fifty states of our Republic. The court's unilateral action short circuited the political process and will continue the cultural divide which will never be settled. But even more dangerous is the loss of religious liberty.

The U.S. Solicitor General admitted during oral argument that churches, religious institutions and universities will lose their tax exempt status if they refuse to violate their conscious. As we have seen in the past, religious adoption agencies will be forced to close, pastors will investigated for preaching against the view of the state and individuals will lose their right to disagree with the new definition of marriage. The decision effectively puts the First Amendment on a collision course with the new morality established by the court. The right to marry by extension grants the right of proponents to persecute Christian and Jews who disagree with their view of marriage.

The court has a history of getting it wrong. This decision is illegitimate as it goes against nature, natural law, our constitution and our God given right of liberty. A illegitimate legal decision cannot stand unless it has the support of the American People. This decision will never stand.
