No Kings Protests Ring Hollow
Claims against Trump don't hold up to scrutiny
The recent "No Kings" protests across America reflect the obvious disfavor of the losing side in the last Presidential election. The reality is elections have consequences. Candidates run on promises to enact their agenda and fix things which they claim are broken. Elections are about the issues that concern people the most whether it involves the economy, crime or public policy. During the last election, one of the three most important issues to voters involved the economy, notably affordability. This issue was directly related to federal spending and public policy involving immigration which caused inflation to rise as well as drive up housing costs. The second issue was open borders which led to a huge increase in illegal immigration causing a strain on governmental services and costs. The third significant issue was violent crime which saw a large spike across the country based on bail reform and equity policies after the George Floyd riots. Both political parties offered distinct public policies to address all three issues and the people made their choice. Donald J Trump won the Presidency by winning all of the swing states and winning the popular vote. Whether Americans agree or not, the people have spoken.
It is no surprise that those who do not support President Trump disagree with his policies. It is well within their rights to protest his policies and to do so peaceably. While the protests were mostly peaceful, some of the protesters were arrested for making terroristic threats. The NYPD arrested a man for threatening to firebomb ICE agents at a protest in New York and another is being sought for threatening to shoot ICE agents at a protest in Chicago. Its one thing to passionately promote opposition against President Trump but making threats of violence crosses a bright line. Unfortunately the left has been crossing that line for quite some time. Looking at the attacks against ICE agents, the left's response to the assassination to Charlie Kirk and the texts by Virginia Attorney General candidate Jay Jones who threatened to shoot a former Republican legislator, the left has mainstreamed political violence. The key driver is demonizing your opponent by spreading outrageous falsehoods.
First, the theme of the protests are dishonest. Trump is not a king and never will be. He was duly elected by the people after winning the electoral college and the popular vote. He controls one branch of government, the executive branch. While his party controls the legislative branch, the Senate requires a sixty vote majority to pass anything which gives power to the minority party. This is contrary to claims of Trump being an authoritarian or dictator. The third branch, the judiciary ensures that the executive branch remains a co-equal branch with the other three. The left regularly avails themselves to filing litigation to stop Trump's actions under executive authority and therefore acknowledge the checks & balances under the constitution. It seems the left is upset because they keep losing their frivolous lawsuits. An example is the decision by Trump to send National Guard troops to Portland Oregon which has seen violent protests against an ICE facility for months. The assertion that the protests are mostly peaceful by Oregon Governor, Tina Kotek is contrary to the actual video footage of the daily protests. Furthermore, Portland Police have failed to take action to adequately protect the ICE facility and ICE agents. This is just a repeat of what occurred at the Portland Federal Court house in 2020.
The most egregious action by opponents of Trump and his policies is to label everyone whom you disagree with as either Hitler, Nazis or Fascists. Considering the evil history of both ideologies, people who are actually convinced that they are fighting against current day Nazism and or Fascism will believe their cause is justified. Who would disagree if true?, however the claims are false, absurd and beyond egregious. How can any sane person make such a comparison? As it has been shown time and time again through out history, those who label their opponents as evil are often engaging in the very same conduct they claim they are fighting. Now with that being said, most in the middle or the right have never claimed those on the left are Nazis or Fascists nor do they believe it. What is true is many on the left engage in hatred and bigotry as defined by their actions as well as the law.
Shortly after the October 7th attack against Israel, many on the left openly came out in support of Hamas, a terrorist group. Looking back at the prior Biden administration, they took no action to prevent or stop the unlawful bigotry directed at Jewish students at college campuses across America. President Biden and a Democrat controlled congress enacted policies that unlawfully discriminated against whites by attempting to enforce equal outcomes based on race. In particular, legislation pertaining to grants & loans by the Department of Agriculture and the Small Business Administration were struck down as unconstitutional. The Biden administration sought to target their opponents on many levels by weaponizing government. While the lawfare against Trump was the most obvious, it didn't stop there. President Biden encouraged banks to discriminate against their political opponents by debanking them. They added their political opponents to the TSA no fly list preventing people such as former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard from flying. The Biden Administration pressured social media platforms to unlawfully censor their opponents and those who disagreed with the Covid vaccine. The Biden administration began to expand the J6 investigation to include thousands who did not enter the Capital building or were in the immediate area but whom they claimed were in a restricted outer area. The FBI while investigating J6 unlawfully asked for and obtained financial information from banks regarding any person in DC on January 6, 2020 who engaged in a banking transaction. Recently it was revealed that Jack Smith along with the FBI targeted over 92 Republican and Conservative organizations involving his unfounded investigation against Donald Trump entitled "Arctic Frost". The same investigation also tracked private conversations by twelve Republican Senators.
When the claims by the "No Kings" day protestors are evaluated by the facts and the history of the prior administration, it is well established that the person who believed he was a king was none other than Joe Biden and his supporters in the Democrat party. Remaining silent when evil runs amok, engaging in unlawful governmental discrimination, using the government to go after your opponents, and encouraging violence against those of whom you disagree is the definition of tyranny. A tyrannical king if you will. So the next time the left decides to protest, they should consider looking in the mirror. What they see in the reflection is who they really are.
