Protect Election Integrity in New York
Vote NO on Propositions 1,3,4 on the rear of your ballot
Proposition #1
Vote NO
Effectively eliminates independent
redistricting, allows for partisan gerrymandering. The
Independent Redistricting Commission was created after it was
approved via a previous proposition by voters in 2014 by a 58-42% margin.
The role of the Commission was to submit a plan this year with
new non-partisan state legislative district lines which would
take effect in 2022. While there would still be a commision, the
party in power would have total control of drafting the district
lines as it would lower the legislative vote threshold from 66%
to 60% on their ability to reject the commission's
recommendations and would allow for mechanism where the party in
power can refuse to vote on the commision's recommendations.
Proposition #3
Vote NO
Allows
for same day voter registration eliminating Ten-Day advance
voter registration requirement. That means anyone could walk in
and vote on election day without providing proper verification.
The new voter would be able to vote immediately using a scanned ballot
instead of using a provisional ballot pending verification by
the local Board of Elections. If it is determined that their
identity cannot be verified after voting, their vote would still
count. This will open the door to fraud.
Proposition #4 Vote NO
Enacts no-excuse absentee voting, legalizing vote by mail in New
York. This would eliminate the requirement that the voter be
absent from their county of residence or a voter was
unable to appear due to illness. Thus the state
would be able to send out universal mail in ballots. This would ultimately Increase the opportunity for "ballot
harvesting" and voter fraud. Other forms of voting such as
internet voting and voting by phone can be
considered.
