The Kamala Harris Immigration Plan

Open Borders to continue

One of the most pressing issues of the 2024 Presidential campaign involves the border crisis with millions and millions of illegal aliens pouring across America's borders. Whether being admitted based on dubious claims of asylum, other humanitarian grounds and those who "got away", the situation at the border is untenable. No country in the western world or any where in the world would stand for an invasion of its sovereign territory. As we have written before, it was a planned and conscious decision by the Biden-Harris administration to rescind dozens and dozens of executive orders from the Trump Administration as well as issue their own that promote unlawful, irregular migration to the United States. The claim that our immigration system is broken is true, however is was broken on purpose by the current administration in order to reach their political goals. Replacing hard working American citizens both born and naturalized with unskilled, uneducated migrants who will eventually become new dedicated voters of the Democrat party. The way forward is through amnesty for those who are here and the provision of government benefits for all who come. For the short term, it helps readjust the electoral map as illegal aliens are currently included in the census which determines the number of congressional seats based on each state's total  population. The plan has always been open borders. One of their first proposed bills in 2021, the U.S. Citizen Act would have opened the border to all the world if enacted into law. The other recent bill, the Border Act of 2024 if enacted would have codified all of the executive measures implemented by the Biden-Harris administration to facilitate open borders.

The U.S. Citizen Act of 2021 was proposed by the Biden-Harris administration shortly after entering office. The claimed necessity of the bill was to fix the so called broken immigration system, however the bill if enacted would actually create more havoc and would grant amnesty to millions. The language of the bill stated it would grant lawful status for anyone deemed eligible who was physically present in the United States as of January 1, 2021. The bill would rescind the deportations completed during the Trump administrations allowing deported illegal aliens to return and lawfully remain inside the United States. The bill would offer a two tier path to citizenship, three years for so called Dreamers (under the prior Obama amnesty), farm workers and those here under Temporary Protected status. All others would be granted a eight year path to citizenship. The total estimated number receiving amnesty would be between eleven and twelve million illegal aliens. The bill would also expand legal immigration by eliminating per county admission caps and would amend the process for filing asylum cases. As to enforcement, the bill does nothing to crack down on illegal immigration.

The Border Act of 2024 was negotiated in the US senate by Chuck Schumer and Senator Lankford (R-OK). The bill would codify into law several aspects of the current Biden policy which was enacted by executive action. The bill would grant the President the power to close the border, a power he already currently possesses, however it would be tied to the number of border crossing. In particular, if crossing reach 4000 or more per day for 7 days, the President may close the border at his discretion. If it reaches 5000 per day for 7 days, he would be required to do so. Using math, that would allow more than 1.8 million illegal aliens into the United States per year not including those allowed entry by the Customs & Border patrol application where aliens apply for asylum and are admitted into the US while there cases are pending. The bill does not reform or limit amnesty claims to be consistent with the UN agreement but gives more discretion to Asylum officers to grant asylum at the border under expedited hearings. The bill also allows the DHS Secretary to continue to grant parole status to millions of illegal aliens into the US without being held in detention. The purpose of this bill which had no chance to pass in the House of Representatives was to give Democrats and some Senate republicans political cover in claiming it was a bipartisan immigration enforcement bill to fix the border.

An actual enforcement and reform bill was proposed by the House of representatives back in may of 2023. The bill passed the house but was blocked in the Senate by Chuck Schumer. The bill referred as HR-2 called for practical measures to stop the border invasion. The bill called for the completion of the border wall. While so simple, a wall is very practical as thwarts those who attempt to cross the border at irregular locations. The bill would prohibit DHS from processing illegal aliens arriving between ports of entry and ends unlimited parole of illegal aliens by the DHS secretary. DHS must comply with all biometric collection requirements and identity documents to identify those who attempt to enter the US. The bill repeals the use of the CBP application which allows unlimited entry into the US based on claims of asylum and requires adherence asylum standards consistent with the UN asylum agreement. The bill also bars federal funds from being used to resettle illegal aliens throughout the country and expands expedited removal of those who arrived illegally. The bill has numerous other enforcement mechanisms and requires significant reporting by DHS. The bill actually addressed the wonton disregard for enforcement of immigration law by the Biden-Harris administration and address several long standing issues.

Kailua's claim that Donald Trump killed the recent border bill in order to use the immigration crisis as an election issue is laughable. She and Biden caused the crisis with their reckless policies. As proven, the bill only facilitates unchecked unlawful migration with no solutions. This is typical Washington and also the same political trick used by politicians at the state level. Again, put forward a proposed bill claiming it will address a particular societal problem and than when it fails to pass after people actually read what's in it, claim the other side is being blocking your good faith efforts. This is regular crass politics at its best. Then at the height of dishonesty, Biden enacted an executive order to limit the asylum claims and reduce the number of border crossers prior to the election. So there is not doubt as to who is responsible for open borders, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. This is why illegal immigration is one of the top issues for this presidential election. This is why Kamala she refused to visit the border as border Czar. Kamala's plan is the same as Joe's, open borders by executive action. Now you know.
