Tell-a-marketer DO NOT CALL!!

How to stop the unwanted calls.

Do Telemarketers call just as you and your family are about to eat dinner?  Do you ever wonder how you can stop those annoying Brooklyn Bridge selling people from intruding upon your family’s privacy?  Well there’s a simple answer!  Simply place your phone number on the National “Do Not Call” registry and most of the calls will stop.

In particular, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) maintains a National “Do Not Call” registry which allows people to have their phone number registered so that most telemarketers stop calling your phone.   By placing your phone number on the registry, telemarketers are prohibited under penalty of fines from calling your phone.  Under registry rules, you can register both your home phone and even your cell phone; and within 31 days after registration, most telemarketers are barred from calling you.

After registering a phone number, it will remain on the “DO Not Call" registry for a period of five years, and when that time expires, just re-register for continued protection.  Although charities, political organizations, and survey callers are generally exempt from the “Do Not Call” prohibition, most of the annoying calls will come to a halt.  And just maybe- your dinner prayers will now be answered.
