Our feature speaker was Donald X. Clavin. Mr. Clavin has held his current position as Receiver of Taxes since February 2001. He is responsible for collecting taxes for 33 school districts and 99 special districts in the Town of Hempstead and is responsible for the day to day operations of his office. Prior to holding this position, he served as a legislative aide to New York Assemblyman James Darcy and the late Senator Norm Levy. Mr. Clavin also served as a Deputy County Attorney with the Nassau County Attorney's office. Mr. Clavin has announced that he is seeking the office of Nassau County Comptroller as the Republican/Conservative candidate.

Mr. Clavin addressed various components of taxation, open government initiatives, fiscal reforms and his vision for the future should he be elected Nassau County Comptroller.
