Our last public meeting was held on Thursday, May 24th Guest speaker: Fran Becker. Candidate for 4th Congressional District Topics: Conversation with Fran Becker, Tax Relief, Statewide agenda to fight cancer Our guest speaker is Francis X. Becker who is running for the 4th Congressional District. He was the first elected representative of the 6th Legislative District in the Nassau County Legislature and was re-elected ten times. Mr. Becker ran a spirited race against incumbent Congresswomen Caroline McCarthy in 2010. Fran is President of Becker & Associates Planning Services and is a Certified Financial Planner. Fran served as the Chairman of the Major Project Cerebral Palsy Committee for the New York #1 Elks Lodge for 20 consecutive years and is presently the Chairman of the Americanism Committee. He is a Past Exalted Ruler of the Lodge, as well. Fran is also a member of the Holy Name Society, the Mom and Dads Club of Lynbrook High School, the Knights of Columbus and other community organizations. He is a former coach of the Lynbrook Titans Football and Lacrosse teams. Fran Becker will address the following topics; the fiscal crisis facing America and Albany, his philosophy on the role of government, and his reform agenda. The number one fiscal issues facing Long Islanders is excessive property taxes, excessive fees and a stagnant business climate. While those in Albany have promised reform and have claimed success, how are you doing personally? Are your taxes any lower? Can you afford to remain in New York? What about your children? Now is the time to take action. We are looking to a few good men and women who are willing to stand up and enter into the arena. If your interested, this is the meeting for you. Now is the time to move to the next level and bring actual change. This meeting will focus on this effort. A personal and devastating issue that affects Long Island families is cancer. On Long Island, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Lung cancer is the number one killer of men and woman. In an effort to address this specific issue, we will unveil an aggressive legislative agenda to fight this important battle and to bring help to families burdened with cancer. Please be prepared to bring your ideas and suggestions to help formulate our agenda on cancer. Location: Bellmore Library, 2288 Bedford Avenue, Bellmore, NY Time: 7:00pm
