"Border Children" or border insanity?

Newsday's twisted view

The article written by Victor Manuel Ramos last week in Newday, “Feds pay Long Island nonprofit to house immigrant kids" reported on the controversy surrounding the government's importation of illegal alien children streaming across the southern border. While the topic of immigration can generate a lot of heat, the opinion piece that proceeded it, "Immigrant Kids Draw American Vitriol" by Ms. Michaud, the interactive editor for Newsday was dishonest, disengaged to the facts and devoid of any understanding of our nations' immigrations laws.

The first thing that is wrong with the opinion is the title. They are not “immigrant kids”, they are children that willingly and illegally came into the United States of America lured by the President's implied promise of legal status. Thus they are defined as Illegal Aliens, period.  With that being said if they are willingly coming into the U.S.A. on their free will, they are apparently not being  trafficked against their will. Does Ms. Michaud actually know the meaning of human trafficking?  It is time to educate her and her misguided open borders cheerleaders. The definition of human trafficking is "Organized criminal activity in which human beings are treated as possessions to be controlled and exploited (such as being forced into prostitution or involuntary labor).  The other part of the title points out “kids”.  Well here is some late and breaking news; the number of people illegally entering the southern border account of only one quarter of those who are caught. The remainder are older teenagers and adults. These are the statistics being reported by the Border Patrol. Our elected leaders are otherwise silent.

So now we must give these children that illegally cross our southern border a cute and compassionate label, “border children”.  If they were border children they would not be in Syosset, they would not be anywhere else in the United States of America. They would be on the south side of the our southern border with Mexico or at the minimum housed at or near the border.

MercyFirst has been accepting Federal money; that means taxpayer’s money to care for the illegal alien children.  The Federal government has the right to ship illegal aliens anywhere around the country without notice to the people.  I don't like it but it's the law. Yet the Federal government has lied to We the People. When taxpayer’s money is given to a third party to care for the illegal alien children, the Federal government is obligated to inform not only We the People but also local leaders including law enforcement. The great words of President Barack Hussein Obama promising to be the most transparent government ring hallow.

Mrs. Michaud states that her feelings were hurt; “The ignorance, bitterness and hatred displayed rocked me to my core.”  Really, did it hurt?  How about the willful ignorance of Newsday when reporting on crime especially when the crime is committed by an illegal alien. Newsday refuses the disclose relevant information on the assailant’s immigration status.  How is it bitterness when a legal taxpaying citizen disagrees with Newsday over the liberal open-border policy?  How about the ignorance that is propelled into the faces of legal taxpaying citizens when Newsday prints lies about the illegal alien crisis that has been going on for decades, not only on Long Island but the rest of this great nation?

A post that you cited, “Send them all back!  Let Mexico handle there [sic] problems”.  The selective part of what is posted left out the rest of the comments. “Send them all back!  Let Mexico handle their own problem.  They get plenty of money from the drug lords.” The American People are frustrated to see their government do nothing. What kind of rational person would fail to understand the issue and instead label their fellow citizen as someone with a crude insensitivity that of resembling a boor. To be fair, no one actually knows where the illegal aliens hail from.  Just because the government says so does not mean it is true.  This is the same government that told us, “If you like your plan you can keep it”, “It was a video that sparked a protest”, “The IRS did not target conservative groups”, and the list goes on and on.

Another post that was cited, “Just want to thank all you dems and non voters for this.  I bust my butt every day to make money and put my kids in a great school and you morons vote to take it from me”. How does Mrs. Michaud reply? With condescension and basically calls the poster a liar.  Is that how hard left Americans justify their thought process by demeaning people, taxpayers that do not believe in their progressive liberal utopian world?  We the People are tired of seeing our money literally thrown at people that are illegally in the United States of America.  In case the left has not noticed, the money to pay for the operation of government does not come from government, it is We the People, the taxpayer’s that carry the load through taxation to support illegal aliens and their criminal acts while in the United States of America.  We the People are tired of illegal aliens receiving social and medical entitlements for FREE, while We the People are told it is not available to the taxpayers or we have to pay.  The progressive liberals see the criminal as the victim instead of seeing the legal taxpaying citizens as the victims.

Maine Governor Paul LePage is absolutely correct with his words and his actions. As the Governor of his state, he is the executive in control of what his state spends and what they spend it on, not the federal government’s state. Those obligations that not enumerated in the constitution are the responsibility of the states. Governor Paul LePage is correct;  anything that he takes away from his legal taxpaying constituents in order to give to people that are illegally in the United States of America is not being fair and compassionate to his legal taxpaying constituents. Why is this simple principle so difficult to understand?

There is no vitriol about 57,000 “children” streaming across the border. It is anger and bewilderment that our government is facilitating the illegal migration of millions of illegal aliens across our southern border. So instead of focusing on border breakdown, opponents seek to demonize the comments of frustration and label anyone who disagrees with open borders as those who engage in “race hatred”.  When will open border advocates like Ms. Michaud admit that illegal immigration has nothing to do with race but rather criminality on a massive scale. America has gone above and beyond the call of duty by accepting over one million legal immigrants ever year. We accept thousands of additional refugees as well. No country in the world accepts the number of legal residents at the United States and no country would ever allow millions of illegal aliens to invade their homeland.

“But the opposition is not entirely racist”.  There goes the race card again. Albeit a minor acknowledgement that their may be some legitimacy to the opposition to the millions that cross our borders.  “Some is sincere concern about how our economy, especially the public school, could absorb so many who presumably don’t speak English or have mush formal education.”  It is quite obvious that the cost to taxpayers have reached a breaking point especially on Long Island. Parent's see it with their own eyes. Children are being taken out of class to learn English, specials education resources that are scarce and providing translation services on the taxpayer dime.  People are not “incensed” about immigrant children; they are infuriated about millions of illegal aliens receiving taxpayer’s money and entitlements for FREE.

Again the article included a post with a response to another post, “Send twenty to my house. The wife and I are going to lose the paid-off home to taxes anyway as old duffers with more than 80 years of hard work between us and I’d like to see some great cubicles built before we go.”  The retort, “You should burn the place to the ground.  I can’t imagine losing my home to foreclosure knowing the likes of Jamie Daimon/Chase or Lloyd Blankfein/Goldman will profit by flipping the ranch to house illegals.”  So as we can see, Ms. Michaud used the post to deflect from the core issue and give an outlet to blame others, i.e. the banks, to steer any responsibility from the people who are responsible for violating our laws and taking from the taxpayers;  the illegal alien. Of course the majority of the elected civil servants that represent We the People have done nothing to protect our borders and defend their taxpayers. Those that do are labeled as expressing hatred, racism, xenophobia and other vitriolic names by the tolerant hard left. Our President Barack Hussein Obama is only pouring gasoline on the hot subject of illegal immigration; his actions only seek to divide this great nation.

In closing, the article stated, “People just aren’t feeling at home.”   Well golly gee, the last sentence finally said something that is right and is the truth.  How would you feel if there are people that should not be in your home and at the same time demand that you give them everything they want? That pretty much sounds like there is someone in your home robbing you. The only difference is the robber would not be demanding FREE schooling, medical coverage, welfare, WIC, public housing, services in their language, etc…
