The consequences of homosexual marriage

Americans were constantly told by proponents of homosexual marriage that Pastors would never be required to perform such unions and that their opposition was based on hatred. States that legalized same sex marriages included so called religious carve outs in order to get the votes to pass it. A few days ago, a Vermont pastor was recently sentenced to one year in prison by a federal judge for refusing to perform a same sex marriage. Yes there is a price for homosexual marriage, it is the loss of liberty for the majority.

Oregon Baker says no to gay wedding cake, ordered to pay $135,000

The Oregon baker who declined to bake a wedding cake for a homosexual couple was found guilty of discrimination and ordered to pay a fine of $135,000. The baker who in the past had no problem selling baked goods to everyone drew the line at baking a wedding cake for a same sex marriage. As a result of their faith, the baker had to close their shop.

California Democrats seek to expunge husband & wife

Democrats from California’s congressional delegation have proposed legislation to remove the words husband and wife from all federal laws in light of the legalization of same sex marriage. Similar efforts are being attempted in states such as Texas to remove mother & father. It should not surprise Americans when legislation is filed to eliminate the exclusionary celebrations of Mother’s day and Father’s day.

Oregon to allow 15 year olds to have sex changes without parental consent

In a harsh attack against parental rights, the state of Oregon earlier this year passed regulations that would allow a child as young as 15 to undergo a sex change without their parents consent. It has been well established that the overwhelming majority of children who express cross gender feelings will experience a reversal of those feelings as they get older. As a sex change is a significant and permanent medical decision, it is unconscionable that the state would try to circumvent parental involvement. Minors are already prohibited by their age from making decisions. Apparently political correctness under the transgender umbrella trumps parental rights.

President Obama Creates Constitutional Crisis

Constitutional Law Professor Jonathan Turley testified before congress today on the abuse of power by the President. Turley who voted for President Obama has become one of his harshest critics. He said that “the greatest danger that we have, really cannot be overstated, is when he have the concentration of power in one branch. That is precisely the sort of power the framers were seeking  to avoid.”  Click here for the story

And they were called Christians....

What is a Christian?

For more then two thousand years, "Christians" have been part of the world's history both good and bad. It was Christians who fought to abolish slavery in America and "Christians" who participated in the Crusades. It is Christians who care for the sick and feed the poor yet those who profess to be "Christians" care little for their neighbor. While the world today has become openly hostile to Christianity, the biggest enemy of Christians are other "Christians".  Think about it, how many times have our Christian political leaders and Christian leaders of industry bent over backwards to reject the nature of our founding by removing God from the public square and stripping America of it's Judeo-Christian values? Divided Supreme Court issues controversial decisions on homosexual marriage

In two cases before the court; one challenging Section 3 of the Federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) which recognizes marriage as the union of one man and one woman pertaining to federal benefits and an appeal to a federal district court's decision overturning California's Proposition 8 which banned homosexual marriage, a divided court ruled 5-4 that DOMA violated the constitution's equal protection clause. The 2nd case was remanded back to the district court as the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that the parties who appealed the case had no standing.

The effect of the rulings are the legal recognition by the federal government of homosexual marriages performed in the twelve states where they are legal pertaining to federal benefits and legalizing homosexual marriage in California. What the court did not do was find a constitutional right to homosexual marriage and did not overturn the thirty state constitutional amendments limiting marriage as a union of one man and one woman. Chief Justice Roberts made that point clear,  “I think it … important to point out that its analysis leads no further. The court does not have before it, and the logic of its opinion does not decide, the distinct question whether the states, in the exercise of their ‘historic and essential authority to define the marital relation,’ … may continue to utilize the traditional definition of marriage.” Read more ..........

BSA Board defers decision

After hearing from thousands of it's members, the BSA have decided to defer their decision to the 1400 member national committee which will vote in May on whether to retain their membership rules. The change faces an uphill battle. During a recent two year study on the issue, 92% of members support the current policy. Even so, it is still important to keep up the pressure.

To the Boy Scouts of America:

Show courage.

Stand firm for timeless values.

News reports indicate that the national leaders of the Boy Scouts are considering changing their longstanding policy against having openly homosexual Scout leaders or Scouts.

This would be a grave mistake.

Every American who believes in freedom of thought and religious liberty should be alarmed by the attacks upon the Boy Scouts, who have had core convictions about morality for 100 years. Every Scout takes an oath to keep himself “morally straight.” The Boy Scouts have every right to include sexual conduct in how they define that term. Many of our organizations stood with the Boy Scouts when the Supreme Court of the United States upheld their right to maintain their membership standards. To compromise moral principles under political and financial pressure would teach boys cowardice, not courage.

Every parent concerned about guiding and protecting their own children should also be alarmed by the proposed change to Boy Scout policy. As the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) confirmed as recently as last July, “the vast majority of the parents” of Boy Scouts reserve to themselves the right to introduce and give guidance on sexual topics. In addition, the current policy is part of the BSA’s efforts to protect Scouts from sexual abuse. Last year BSA released their so-called “perversion files,” which contained the names of hundreds of sexual predators who had managed to hide their attraction to boys and enter the Boy Scouts. How will parents be able to entrust their children to the Boy Scouts if they trade the well-being of the boys for corporate dollars?

Take Action!

A disagreement of values and hate

During the past week, restaurant chain Chick Fil A and the the Boy Scouts of America have been viciously attacked by those with whom they respectfully disagree with on values. The Chief Operating Officer of Chick Fil A, Dan Cathy discussed his Christian philosophy with the Baptist Press and made it clear that they support the Biblical definition of a family. He stated that  they are not a "Christian Business" but rather base their business on "Christian principles" such as closing on Sunday. The Boy Scouts of America announced that they will not change their policy on homosexual scout leaders consistent with the view of the majority of their members. Read more........

NY City Council Speaker Quinn Violates Law; Uses Office to Threaten Chick fil-A

In an effort to punish Chick fil-A for the views of it's CEO, the City Council Speaker sent a letter using the official letter head of New York City demanding that New York University cancel their contract to allow Chick fil-A to operate on campus. The City Council which recently approved plans for New York University to expand, has an inordinate amount of influence over the University. Her effort to unlawfully intimidate New York University to violate the law is disgraceful. Specifically her action violates Chick fil-A's first amendment right as a business to express it's views without intervention by the government.

Her dimwitted move again affirms the absurdity of those who claim tolerance while engaging in the suppression of the right of speech and the expression of one's faith. Quinn should resign her position as Council Speaker as she is a complete embarrassment to the residents of New York City.

Even the New York Times Criticized NYC Council Speaker Quinn

"...Speaker Christine Quinn of the New York City Council also overreached when she sent a letter, on Council stationery, calling for the president of New York University to “sever your relationship” with a Chick-fil-A eatery on campus. “Let me be clear,” she wrote, “I do not want establishments in my city that hold such discriminatory views.”

As a gay woman who recently got married, Ms. Quinn’s anger about Mr. Cathy’s comments is understandable. And she stressed on Monday that the letter was “solely my own opinion.” But, as a powerful city leader and a leading candidate for mayor, she and others in city governments should take care not to be seen muscling aside businesses whose owners don’t agree with their views. That won’t work, especially in a city as big, diverse and opinionated as New York."

North Carolina Marriage Amendment blow out!

With a 22 percent margin, North Carolina voters gave traditional marriage a decisive victory by passing a constitutional amendment to define marriage as the union of one man and one women. According to proponents, the amendment was needed due to judicial activism where judges override the will of the people and legislators who re-define marriage without the consent of the governed. The amendment codifies the definition of marriage and prohibits other parallel legal schemes that provide all the benefits of marriage without being called marriage.

The recent comments by Vice President Biden and Education Secretary Arne Duncan supporting homosexual marriage apparently backfired along with the President's political confusion over what position to take. When asked whether he supports homosexual marriage, the Vice President stated, “I am absolutely comfortable with the fact that men marrying men, women marrying women.... Apparently North Carolina voters were not.

California Ban on Homosexual marriage ruled unconstitutional

The 9th Circuit court of appeals today in a 2 to 1 decision, upheld Judge Walker's ruling that California's voter approved ban on homosexual marriage was unconstitutional. The court ruled that the ban violated the 14th Amendment equal protection clause and that the People of California has no rational basis to ban homosexual marriage. Proponents of traditional marriage have vowed to file an immediate appeal. The case can be appealed to the full 9th Circuit court of appeals and or to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Evil in our midst: Mainstreaming Pedophilia

This bizarre article from the UK's Guardian Newspaper actually questions whether pedophilia causes harm. The article also quotes researchers who now refer to this criminal conduct as "a distinct sexual orientation". The fact that any educated human being holds a view mainstreaming evil shows how low we have sunk as a society.
