NY Museum of Natural History: Take Teddy Roosevelt Statute Down

The Purging of History Continues

In the ongoing purge of American History, the New York Museum of Natural History has decided to remove the statute of Teddy Roosevelt at the entrance of the museum. Without any reasonable explanation, the museum board including a descendant of Teddy Roosevelt determined that now was the time to act. In return for removing the statute, the museum will name a wing of the museum after Teddy Roosevelt. The move was supported by the NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Cuomo.

While a Museum or a municipality may have a legal right to decide what statutes can be maintained or removed, the basis for their actions is often ideologically driven or out of fear. Erasing history must be rejected. Understanding and acknowledging our history is paramount to learning. As our society becomes educated on American exceptionalism, our accomplishments, our mistakes, our failures and what we as a society did wrong, we become a better country. The key to knowledge is to avoid repeating certain parts of our past, the bad and the ugly.

The Progressive-Socialist movement is an example of repeating history, the bad and the ugly. The Cultural Revolution in China by Mao Zedong in the 1960's followed a similar path in which his government removed statutes, purged history and pushed the bounds of socialism. It provided the basis to "re-educate" members of society and reject free speech often with the use of violence. The rise of Antifa and Black Life's Matter (BLM) as the new shock troops validate the parallels.

BLM activist Shaun King posted the following on Twitter, "Yes, I think the statues of the white European they call Jesus should also come down. They are a form of white supremacy. Always have been. In the Bible, when the family of Jesus wanted to hide, and blend in, guess where they went? Egypt! Not Denmark. Tear them down." He went on the say, "All murals and stained glass windows of white Jesus, and his European mother, and their white friends should also come down. They are a gross form white supremacy. Created as tools of oppression. Racist propaganda. They should all come down." Even churches are not safe from the mob. The silence of our elected leaders is deafening.

Considering all the accomplishments of the former President for the American people, this decision to remove the statute of Teddy Roosevelt is nothing more than the fruits of the new American socialist revolution fueled by mob violence with the willing acquiescence of our cowardly elected officials. Giving in to the mob will only encourage more obscene demands and will reinforce the notion that violence against society will be rewarded. This outcome is quite obvious with the wonton desecration and destruction of Americas historical monuments no longer limited to Confederate soldier memorials. Whether they are  abolitionists, Presidents or World War veteran memorials, nothing is safe.

If we allow the rule of the mob, we will no longer have an ordered society. The Constitution and the rule of law must prevail. Now is the time for action by the United States Department of Justice to restore order to those who engage in violence and the destruction of America's statutes and monuments.
