The Presidential Impeachment Show

The hypocrisy of Democrat Socialist Progressives

The decision by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) to conduct a impeachment inquiry without actually voting on a resolution to do so is more about playing to both sides of impeachment in her effort to placate the majority of her caucus who are consumed with Trump derangement syndrome. Since Donald Trump was first elected, House Democrats have called for his impeachment for so called "Russian collusion" during the 2016 election to everything else in between such as his comments during the Charlottesville protests to alleged violations of the emollients clause. While President Obama had a two year honeymoon like most Presidents before him, President Trump didn't even have a few days once he was elected as evidenced by a series of protests against his election which began on November 9, 2016. Worse yet were secret plans by President Obama and his allies to use the powers of the federal government to facilitate the false claim of Russian collusion by Donald Trump to win the 2016 election in an effort to immediately delegitimize the Trump Presidency.

The collusion narrative was created by President Obama who used the intelligence community to target then presidential candidate Trump with a discredited dossier with opposition research paid for by Trump's political opponent Hillary Clinton. The dossier which contained disinformation provided by the Russian Government was later used to obtain a FISA warrant which was renewed three times to spy on the Trump campaign. The Obama administration pressured the Ukrainian government to drop an investigation into the business dealing of Vice-President Biden's son Hunter Biden and to look for new evidence of any wrong doing by Paul Manafort, Donald Trump's then campaign manager. A staffer for the Democrat National Committee pressed the Ukrainian government to find dirt on Manafort and Trump. Then Vice-President Biden bragged on video tape that he pressured the Ukrainian government to fire the prosecutor investigating Hunter Biden under the threat of withholding U.S Aid. Apparently colluding with a foreign government to win an election or having a President targets his political opponents is fine as long as it involves a progressive socialist.

Even after the 2016 election, Democrats continued to use their influence to shape the actions of the Ukraine to investigate President Trump. In 2018, three senators, Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Richard Durbin (D-Illinois) and Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont) wrote a letter to the Ukraine's Prosecutor General urging that four cases related to Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation which were on hold to be re-opened.

Even though Donald Trump was cleared by Special Counsel Mueller for the phony charge of colluding with Russia to win the election,  Mueller decided not to use a legal standard to address the claim of  obstruction. He instead sought to muddy the waters by using a new untenable standard that he did not "exonerate" Trump. Mr. Mueller knew full well that it's not a prosecutors job to exonerate but to either charge or not charge a person with a crime. As Mueller left the decision to the Justice Department, Attorney General Barr along with his number two, Assistant Attorney General Rod Rosenstein determined that Trump did not commit obstruction. Yet today we are back with another charge of collusion involving a foreign government, this time the Ukraine. The charge; President Trump used his office to dig for dirt on a potential presidential opponent Joe Biden by asking that Biden son's questionable business dealings be investigated and the unsubstantiated claim that the President withheld foreign aid to the Ukraine as a form of a quid pro quo.

The information regarding the call came about from a so called whistle blower from the intelligence community who contacted the inspector General who then reported the complaint to Congress. The Acting Director of National Intelligence, Joseph McGuire determined that the complaint was not a valid whistle blower complaint as the person had no first hand knowledge of the call, provided alleged accounts of third parties even though he claimed to have first hand knowledge of the call and the Inspector General  determined that the whistle blower had "a political bias" and was "in favor of a rival candidate". The complaint which appears to have been written by a law firm was then forwarded to the Department of Justice which determined that there were no election law violations such as receiving an item of value and failing to report it. The attorney's who represent the whistle blower are linked to the Clintons and Obama with one even donating to the Biden campaign. Even the complaint form for making a whistle blower complaint was recently changed requiring a complaint to have first had information.

Showing her hand by calling for an impeachment inquiry a day before the July 25th transcript of the phone call between President trump and the Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky was released, House Speaker Pelosi (D-San Francisco) has no credibility. Adam Schiff (D-CA), Intelligence Committee Chair opened his committee's Thursday hearing by making up a fictitious parody of the July 25th call. When called out for this odd behavior, he claimed it was a joke. How can any rational person take this inquiry seriously. Nancy Pelosi during a recent  60 Minute interview claimed that she knew what was in the call before the transcript was released raising questions that the impeachment inquiry was a political set up.

The transcript shows no evidence that the President threatened to withhold aid from the Ukraine if their government declined to review the business dealings of Hunter Biden and the actions of then Vice-President Joe Biden. The President as chief spokesperson for the United States has every right to ensure that allegations of corruption are investigated and which is no different then what Senate Democrats did in their letter. As to disbursing the financial aid, the President's previous remarks note that he was concerned with corruption of the prior Ukraine administration and that other nations are not contributing their fair share to assist the Ukraine, however after a call by Senator Portman (R-Ohio), the aid was released. Furthermore, the Ukrainian President released a statement saying he was not pressured.

The Justice Department through the lead of US Attorney John Durham are investigating the genesis of the false Russian collusion narrative. The push for impeachment is a last ditch effort to derail that investigation and distract from the hypocrisy of Democrat Progressive Socialists who themselves used foreign governments, the intelligence community and any means necessary to win power even if they lose at the ballot box. The Presidential Impeachment show continues.
